Footnotes

TopLeaf supports two footnote types, distinguished by where the content of the note is displayed:

  • the content of a column footnote is displayed at the bottom of a data column.

  • the content of a page footnote is displayed at the bottom of a page.

Footnotes are declared by tag or custom marker mapping that scans and assigns the content of a tag to a column or page footnote.

Each footnote consists of:

  • A marker in the document content that identifies the position at which the note is defined;

  • A labelled block in the footnote region containing the rendered footnote content.
