Leading refers to the vertical distance between one line of text and the next. When a font size is first selected, TopLeaf allocates a leading one point larger. This produces good results in most situations.

The user has the option of overriding this default. For example, a leading equal to twice the point size would result in double spaced text. If the leading value is too small it can cause adjacent lines to overlap.

The leading can be set using the resolved value of an attribute variable or user variable as described in “Using variables”.
