Character spacing

The font character spacing specifies an amount to be added to the effective width of each character. It is an integer with units equal to one thousandth of the current font size. Thus if the current font size is 10pt, a value of “20” will add 0.2pt to each character width.

A positive value has the effect of moving characters further apart, while a negative value moves them together.

You can set the font letter spacing using the value of an attribute variable or user variable and where the resolved value is within the range -999 to 9999.

[Note] Note

Older stylesheets use a percentage value called “letter spacing”. Contact Turn-Key Systems support for information on upgrading to the newer method.
