Measures

Values can be expressed in terms of a number of different measurement units. The following list describes the available units and how they are interpreted:

  • Whole numbers are stored directly (123 is stored as 123).

  • Decimal numbers are rounded to the nearest whole number (22.6 is stored as 23).

  • Decipoints (TopLeaf's internal measure) are stored directly (15dp is stored as 15).

  • One Point = 10dp (65.2pt is stored as 652).

  • One Inch = 720dp (1.5in is stored as 1080).

  • One Centimetre = 283.5dp (4.5cm is stored as 1276).

  • One Millimetre = 28.35dp (45mm is stored as 1276).

  • A Pixel is a relative measure determined by the resolution (DPI) of the output device. TopLeaf assumes a standard resolution (72 DPI) when interpreting pixel measures. One pixel = 10dp (65.2pt is stored as 652).

  • One Em is the size of the current font (1.5em is stored as 300 if the font size is 20pt=200dp).
