Text indents group

While the Spacing group sets vertical space outside the box, the Text Indents group sets the internal indents between the box and the contained text. The indents are always positive, and always point into the box. Values are:

  • Top — minimum distance between the contents and the top of the box .

  • Bottom — minimum distance between the contents and the bottom of the box.

Note: you must consider material below the text baseline when calculating Bottom indents. For example if you set the indent to be zero, then the descenders of letters like p and y may actually extend out through the bottom of the box.

  • Sides — minimum distance between the contents and the sides of the box.

Note that any margins set by mappings applied within a box will be added to these indents.
