Finding text

To search for a piece of text in the text display, enter it into the Find field at the bottom of the window and press enter. The Next and Prev buttons can then be used to search for the next or previous occurrence of the text. If the beginning or end of the document is reached the search will continue from the opposite end and the message “Search wrapped around” will appear.

The Edit menu contains entries for the above operations.

The two checkboxes control aspects of the searching:

  • If Match case is selected the text must match exactly. The default is to do a case insensitive search, so that for example “Chapter” will match “CHAPTER”.

  • If Whole words is selected the word or words in the text must match exactly. The default is to match partial words, so that for example “Intro” will match “Introduction”.
