Data Block Fields

The Pages radio buttons control whether the data block appears on both pages or just one. They are currently always disabled, since data blocks are positioned automatically as described in “Automatic Data Block Creation”.

The Left page and Right page tabs allow you to set properties for this data block when it appears on a particular page (or both pages if they are both disabled).

The Page sequence field is the number displayed in the middle of the block on the page type display. The sequence number determines the order in which data blocks are filled with text during composition. When there is only one data block the sequence is always “1”.

The remaining fields are only enabled if the corresponding control on the Options tab is set to Individual. Any other value causes the value of the field to be set automatically.

Select Enable automatic table heads if you want table heading rows to appear at the top of this page when the table spans more than one page.

Select Enable running heads if you want running heads to appear at the top of this data block. Running heads are described in the Mapping Guide. It is common to enable running heads for the data block that corresponds to the first column of the page, and to disable running heads for all other columns.

Select Enable running feet if you want running feet to appear at the bottom of this data block. Running feet are described in the Mapping Guide. It is common to enable running feet for the data block that corresponds to the last column of the page, and to disable running feet for all other columns.

If Vertically spread paragraphs is set the composition engine may add extra space between paragraphs to fill the data block. This has no effect unless the appropriate vertical justification mode is selected by the mappings.
