Block Mirroring

Mirroring is a convenient way of making sure that data on left and right pages “lines up” correctly. Normally the easiest way to achieve this is to mirror the entire page, as described in “Page Details”.

However, there are some situations where it is useful to be able to mirror some measurements but not others. For example, consider the following layout:

In this example, we want the crop area to be in the same place regardless of whether this is a left or right page. That means that we cannot use page mirroring. However, when the pages are cropped and assembled, the data areas on both sides must line up. We therefore want to specify “inside” and “outside” margins for the data area rather than “left” and “right”. This is achieved by ticking the Mirror margins checkbox on the Data tab.

Note that the fixed block in this example does not use mirroring to provide a comparison.
