Layout Definitions

The layout of a publication contains a collection of page types. Each page type specifies the shape of the page and defines a number of blocks at specific positions on the page. A block is a rectangular region on a page into which data is placed when TopLeaf composes the publication.

The mappings select the appropriate page type depending on the input data. For example, a mapping for a <chapter> tag selects a page type with a single column of data to print the title, then switches to a two column page type after the </title> tag. Page types are selected from the Start Tag and End Tag tabs of mappings.
